Art Clay Society Meeting Friday November 19, 2010

Due to the long Veteran's Day weekend, the meeting for the Art Clay Society of Southern Nevada will be on Friday Nov. 20th instead of this Thursday. We will still meet at our usual time at 6:00 p.m. at Kristi's house. Bring a snack to share with everyone and e-mail Kristi ahead of time if you need any clay so she can have it on hand for you. Plan on making some stuff for the holidays ahead! See you then!

Art Clay Society of Southern Nevada Meeting for Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010

This month I have to change our meeting date to next Thursday. I'm sorry for the short notice, but I'm still in that overwhelmed, back to work mode with so much to do and so little time. That includes having time to do my own art.

My husband is hosting an autograph signing with Mike Tyson at Planet Hollywood in the Miracle Mile Shops at the Painted with Oil Art Gallery this Saturday, Oct. 16th, from 1-6. I'm the photographer for the event and I have a bunch of stuff to prepare the night before. Autographs on a photo are $100.00 each and autographs on boxing gloves are $200.00 each. So if you know any Mike Tyson fans, please pass this information onto them!

Our next meeting will be Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at my house.
I want to finish my mom's birthday (which was in June) pendant. I will show you how to drill holes and set stones into a dried clay form that I showed you at our last meeting. Then if you want to try and make one of these neat little items you can. You need to have about 20 grams of clay to do this. So call Sharon if you need any because I don't have any. You also need assorted stones to set in the clay, ranging from 3mm to 5mm in size would be good.

Bring snacks to share, wine is always welcome.

Hope you can make it!

9/10/10 Art Clay Society of Southern NV Meeting Minutes

Date: Sept. 10, 2010
Time: 6:00 p.m.
Location: Kristi's House
Attendance: Betty, Kim, Kristi, Randy

New Business:
Kristi showed everyone how to make soldered glass charm jewelry using microscope slides and little images. We all created two charms, but it was getting late, so some people will have to solder on their jump rings next month. Kristi explained that we could attach a jump ring at the bottom of the charm where we could suspend one of our own metal clay designs!

We discussed having our meetings on Friday nights, since Kristi is working and we seem to run a little late, and nobody would be rushed. Everyone in attendance said that would be o.k. for them.

8/12/10 Art Clay Meeting Minutes

ACSSN Minutes
Date: August 12, 2010 @ 6:00 p.m.
Location: Kristi's House
Attendees: Kim, Kristi, Kay, Betty, Randy

New Business: Kristi showed many of her completed pieces for her certification which were outstanding. Kristi also demonstrated soldering jump rings.

**Note from Kristi for the next meeting: Just a reminder that we will be making soldered glass charm jewelry at our next meeting. However, our meeting was supposed to be this Thursday at my house, but my son's Open House for pre-school is on Thursday night and as it turns out, the date was wrong on one of the flyers that was sent home. So I am moving our meeting to Friday instead. What a great way to unwind before the weekend! I hope you can make it on Friday instead of Thursday. So please let me know if you will be able to attend. You can bring any little pictures or images you may want to include in a 1" design, but I will have stuff here for you too. Please bring a snack to share with everyone. Wine is always welcome too! I'm looking forward to having a relaxing night with all of you!

A reminder to ACSSN members: please be sure your dues are current with Art Clay World.

Meeting adjourned at 6:30pm to work on projects.

First we enjoyed all of the wonderful food. Workshop was held next. Some of us tried to work with Art Clay Copper but the Copper was like rubber. • Please note Kristi's new email address: kristi.watson1@gmail.com

Please note: the next meeting date may be changed due to some conflicts with Kristi and Kay. Would everyone agree to have it on July 15? Please contact Sharon Rogow to set up a date for July, as it looks like Kristi has a very busy month in July and won't be able to make a meeting.
Meeting adjourned at 9:30pm
